Who makes your products?
Hi! I'm Janelle, the maker behind Kakekukeko. Every item is designed, cut, sewn, and packaged by me right here in Hawaiʻi. My business is named after my four children and inspired by family, creativity, and island living.
Are your items handmade?
Yes! Every piece is handmade in small batches. Because each item is individually cut and sewn, slight variations are normal and part of what makes handmade products special.
Do you take custom orders?
Sometimes! I love creating special pieces when my schedule allows. Send me a message with what you're looking for, and I'll let you know if it's something I can take on.
How long will my order take?
Ready-to-ship items are usually mailed within a few business days.
For custom or made-to-order items, turnaround times vary depending on the project. I'll always give you an estimated completion date before you place your order.
Do you offer local pickup?
Yes! Local pickup may be available depending on my schedule and location. Send me a message before ordering if you'd like to arrange pickup.
What fabrics do you use?
I work with a variety of fabrics including cotton, linen blends, canvas, and specialty prints. I choose fabrics based on durability, function, and what best fits the design.
Can you make matching sets?
Absolutely! If you're looking for matching bags, accessories, aprons, or gifts, send me a message and we can discuss options.
Do you offer wholesale?
Yes! I offer wholesale for select products and enjoy partnering with local businesses and organizations. Minimum order quantities apply. Reach out and I'd be happy to discuss options.
Why are handmade items more expensive than mass-produced products?
When you purchase handmade, you're supporting a real person—not a factory.
Each item involves sourcing materials, designing, cutting, sewing, quality checking, packaging, and customer service. You're investing in craftsmanship, attention to detail, and a product made with care.
Can I request a specific fabric or print?
In many cases, yes! If you're hoping for a particular color, print, or style, let me know. I'll do my best to source something that fits your vision.
How do I care for my item?
Most fabric items can be machine washed on a gentle cycle and laid flat or hung to dry. Specific care instructions will be included when needed.
Do you accept returns?
Because many items are handmade or made-to-order, returns are handled on a case-by-case basis. If there's an issue with your order, please reach out and I'll do my best to make it right.
